Why adopt a senior cat?
Most senior pets have lived in a home before finding themselves without one. They have been loved, and they know what it is to give love. Seniors have mellower personalities than kittens, and while still often playful, they enjoy nothing more than curling up in a warm lap. We see it every day… seniors are visibly grateful for rescue. You will see it in their eyes the moment you open your heart to one. All they are looking for is a safe and comfortable place to spend the rest of their lives. Can you provide that home?
Our seniors come to us from all situations - kill shelters, private surrender, and the occasional stray. Each animal is fully vetted, including shots, FIV/FeLV testing, and a senior blood panel.
Take a minute to look through our pet list by using the window at the bottom of this page. Or, go directly to our Petfinder page at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/PA817.html. There you will see pictures and information on all the animals currently looking for homes, as well as many who are already snuggled up next to their new guardian. No matter what kind of kitty you’re looking for, The Grannie Project can help. If you like calicos or torties, all black, orange or white cats, we can help. Long hair or short hair, we’ve got those. All are seniors, though some are younger, others are much older. But all want one thing… a forever home. And each has one thing to give… their love.
Other ways to help.
If you can’t adopt right now, we understand. But there are many other ways you can help. If you’re in our area, look into becoming a foster family. The more fosters we have, the more cats we can save. Or maybe you can donate supplies? How about volunteering at one of our events? Whatever you do, don’t forget to join our Facebook family. The more people who share our posts, the more seniors will be placed in loving homes.
